Škoda Kodiaq PHEV Launches with Impressive Features
Škoda has begun taking orders for its newest addition, the Kodiaq iV plug-in hybrid.
Boasting an impressive 75-mile electric range and a Benefit-in-Kind rating as low as 5%, this vehicle is a game-changer.
This is the first time the large SUV, starting at £41,935, is available as a plug-in hybrid (PHEV). It joins the line-up of mild hybrid and standard petrol engines in the revamped second-generation Kodiaq series.
Designed to attract fleet drivers, the Kodiaq iV features a second-gen plug-in hybrid system, similar to those in other Skoda and Volkswagen Group models.
The system combines a 150hp four-cylinder turbocharged 1.5 TSI engine with a 116hp three-phase electric motor integrated into the DQ400e DSG gearbox, separated by a clutch.
The powertrain offers a substantial electric-only driving range and enhanced efficiency, delivering up to 204hp in combined power output.
The new 25.7kWh battery enables the 75-mile electric range, while hybrid mode allows longer journeys by combining the petrol engine with the electric motor.
One standout feature is the faster charging capability. The battery can handle DC rapid charging at speeds up to 50kW, allowing it to charge from 10-80% in about 26 minutes. It also supports AC charging up to 11kW, achieving full charge in approximately 2.5 hours.
Equipped with a six-speed DSG gearbox, the Kodiaq iV offers three hybrid driving modes—electric-only, hybrid, and sport mode—peaking at 204hp and 350Nm of torque.
Two trim levels are available, SE and SE L, both in five-seat versions. The SE model, starting from £41,935, includes 18-inch alloy wheels, LED lights, heated front seats, and a keyless start/stop system.
It also comes with a 13-inch infotainment touchscreen, a 10.25-inch driver display, and tri-zone climate control. Safety features include front assist, blind spot detection, and front cross-traffic assist.
The SE L variant, starting at £44,635, adds 19-inch alloy wheels, LED Matrix headlights with adaptive front lighting, and ecoSuite black design with a mix of artificial and real leather.
It also includes an electrically adjustable driver's seat with memory, an electrically operated boot, and keyless entry.
