Affordable Porsche Macan Electric Model Unveiled

New Entry-Level Porsche Macan Electric Announced

  • Rear-wheel drive, single motor model offers a 398-mile range.
  • Base model boasts up to 360 PS of power.
  • Starting price for the most affordable Macan Electric is £67,200.

Porsche has recently introduced a more budget-friendly version of its acclaimed Macan Electric by launching a new rear-wheel-drive model.

Initially, the Macan Electric was available in two configurations earlier this year—the all-wheel drive '4' and the high-performance, all-wheel-drive Turbo. Now, the line-up has expanded with two additional variants.

One variant is the '4S', another all-wheel-drive Macan positioned between the '4' and the Turbo. However, the spotlight is on the simply named 'Macan', which serves as the new entry-level option for those interested in leasing a Macan Electric.

This new model features the same 100 kWh battery as the other cars in the Macan Electric series. Its single motor, rear-wheel-drive configuration extends the maximum range to an impressive 398 miles between charges.

Despite being the base model, it delivers 340 PS of power (which can temporarily boost up to 360 PS with the ‘Launch Control’ feature) and 563 Nm of torque. It can accelerate from 0-62 mph in just 5.7 seconds.

To provide some context, this makes the Macan Electric faster than the petrol-powered Macan T and just 0.6 seconds slower than the Audi SQ5. Not bad for an entry-level model.

The new Porsche Macan Electric starts at £67,200. Leasing prices will be available soon.

Additionally, the new '4S', priced from £75,400, is a twin-motor all-wheel-drive model. It offers 516 PS of power (with overboost) and can accelerate from 0-62 mph in 4.1 seconds, with a range of up to 376 miles on a single charge.

Standard features include Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) electronic damping control.

Optional features include adaptive air suspension with levelling system and height adjustment, Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV Plus), and rear-axle steering.

Porsche also offers a new 'off-road design package' to handle rugged terrains and steep inclines. The front bumper has been redesigned for a better approach angle (up to 17.4 degrees), and the adaptive air suspension can increase ground clearance by 10 mm to 195 mm in its normal setting.

The package includes 21-inch off-road wheels and is priced from £908.

Both new Macan models are now available for order and will be delivered to customers in the latter half of the year.
