Lotus Ventures into Luxury Electric cars with the New Emeya

Sports car specialist Lotus is expanding into the luxury electric-sedan market with its new four-door model, the Emeya.

This sleek sedan is set to compete with sporty EVs like the Audi e-tron GT and Porsche Taycan.

The Emeya promises an electric powertrain capable of reaching 62 mph in just 2.8 seconds.

With Lotus’s renowned expertise in chassis tuning, we can expect the Emeya to offer exceptional handling and a thrilling driving experience.

To stay competitive, this stylish sedan will need to provide a driving range of at least 250 miles per charge.

The four-door EV boasts a chic design and a luxurious interior packed with cutting-edge technology.

Lotus has announced that production will begin in 2024, with the Emeya making its debut in North America as a 2025 model.

The 2025 Lotus Emeya is set to have a starting price of approximately £100,000. Depending on the trim and options you select, the cost could rise to £120,000

The Emeya boasts an expansive 102.0-kWh battery pack. While Lotus or the EPA haven't yet provided official driving range figures, it's expected to perform similarly to the Eletre SUV.

Anticipate a range of around 260 miles on the lower end, extending up to 315 miles at its peak.

At the core of the dashboard is an amazing 15.1-inch infotainment touchscreen, but Lotus has announced an even larger 55.0-inch augmented-reality head-up display will also be available.Projecting essential information onto the windshield for the driver. Photos also reveal a slim display embedded into the dashboard design in front of the front-seat passenger, though it’s unclear whether this screen provides access to infotainment features or simply shows the date and time.
