Introducing the BYD Seal Saloon
Get ready for the latest electric saloon from Chinese car company BYD.
The all-new BYD Seal is set to make its way to the UK later this year, and here's everything you need to know about it.
Fast Facts about the BYD Seal:
- Impressive range of around 350 miles
- Stylish saloon fastback design that rivals luxury EVs
- Features BYD's advanced e-Platform technology
- A worthy alternative to the Tesla Model 3
- Dual-motor version boasts up to 530hp
Stylish Design:
The BYD Seal stands out with its sleek saloon design, distinguishing itself from its crossover sibling, the Atto 3. Sporting a sharp front end and clean lines, it exudes a high-end aesthetic. The silhouette resembles upscale cars like the Polestar 2 and BMW i4, complete with flush door handles and eye-catching alloy wheels. At the rear, a full-width light bar adds a touch of elegance. This is BYD's most premium car to date.
Luxurious Interior and Cutting-Edge Tech:
Step inside the BYD Seal and immerse yourself in its premium interior. The 15-inch touchscreen display, featured in both the Seal and Atto 3, can easily switch between portrait and landscape modes. Compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, it offers seamless connectivity. The driver is treated to a 10-inch digital display, a step up from the Atto 3. The quilted leather-effect upholstery complements the sporty seats, and the dashboard design is intriguing with air vents stretching across its width.
Impressive Drivetrains:
Choose between a single motor or dual motor platform when purchasing the BYD Seal. Both options utilize BYD's cutting-edge e-Platform technology and come equipped with an 82kWh battery pack, significantly larger than the Atto 3. The dual motor variant boasts a range of 323 miles, while the single motor version reaches up to 354 miles. Expect impressive performance from both models, with the single motor variant producing 310hp and achieving a sub-six-second 0-62mph time. The dual motor version packs a punch with 530hp and a blistering 0-62mph time of just 3.8 seconds, giving tough competition to the Tesla Model 3 Performance and BMW i4 M50. Plus, both models can charge from 20% to 80% in under 30 minutes using a fast charger.
