Introducing the Volkswagen ID X Performance concept
Meet the electrifying super-saloon that's giving Tesla a run for its money. This stunning one-off showcases the future of Volkswagen's performance models, boasting an impressive 558bhp and unrivaled power.
Unveiled at the exclusive Volkswagen ID Driver's Club meeting, the ID X Performance is a true statement of intent for the brand's electric sports cars.
Drawing inspiration from the successful ID GTI concept, this powerhouse takes performance to new heights.
Featuring the same 'X' moniker as the previous four-wheel-drive performance version of the Volkswagen ID 3, the ID X Performance pushes boundaries and showcases the creative possibilities of Volkswagen's MEB platform.
While details about the production-spec Volkswagen ID 7 GTX remain scarce, our sources suggest that it will combine the base model's 282bhp rear motor with the ID 4 GTX's 107bhp front motor, resulting in a combined output of approximately 390bhp.
Keep an eye out for a potential 'ID 7 R' model that could draw direct inspiration from the ID X Performance concept.
Distinguished by its carbon fiber front splitter, rear diffuser, lowered suspension, and 20-inch alloys with track-ready tires, the ID X concept is a sight to behold.
Its 558bhp is generated by two motors, one on each axle, surpassing the power of the BMW i4 M50 and rivaling the mightiest Mercedes-AMG EQE 53. Plus, with its boost function, the ID X Performance can deliver even more power when you need it most.
Though exact performance figures have yet to be announced, we can safely assume that the all-wheel-drive ID 7 will effortlessly accelerate from 0-62mph in under 4.0 seconds, putting it in direct competition with the Tesla Model 3 Performance.
Step inside and experience pure luxury. The interior is adorned with red accents, carbon bucket seats, and Alcantara detailing, while the latest version of Volkswagen's MIB infotainment software takes center stage on the 15.0-inch touchscreen.
While the range of the ID X Performance may be slightly less than the ID 7 at 435 miles (assuming the same battery is used), it more than makes up for it with rapid charging capabilities of up to 200kW.
Prepare to be electrified by the future of performance. The Volkswagen ID X Performance is here to prove that power and sustainability can go hand in hand.
