Nio Unveils New EC6 Electric Coupe SUV, Set to Hit Markets in September
Chinese automaker Nio has introduced the EC6 coupé SUV, slated to be the company's third production car available for purchase later this year.
Revealed at Nio Day in Shenzhen, China, the EC6 is based on the ES6 SUV, bringing exciting advancements in electric vehicle technology.
The EC6 lineup includes a top-tier Performance version equipped with two electric motors: a powerful 160kW permanent magnet motor at the front axle and an impressive 240kW induction unit at the rear.
This dynamic combination allows for an impressive 0-62mph acceleration time of 4.7 seconds.
Additionally, its 110kWh battery provides a remarkable range exceeding 370 miles.
Featuring the iconic frontal styling seen in Nio's ES6 and ES8 models, the EC6 sports a sleek, streamlined coupé roofline at the rear, giving it a distinctive and stylish look.
The vehicle also boasts a spacious interior with a standout portrait-oriented touchscreen in the center of the dashboard.
Customers can expect full technical specifications to be released in July, with deliveries scheduled to begin in September.
Although Nio is currently only available in China, the company has global ambitions and is listed on the New York Stock Exchange.
As it looks to expand its reach, Nio is actively seeking new funding to support its growth plans. Despite financial challenges, Nio continues to innovate and impress with its lineup of electric vehicles.
In addition to the EC6, Nio showcased an updated version of its popular ES8 large SUV at the event, introducing enhancements that increase its official range to an impressive 360 miles.
