The newest member of BMW's lineup of two-door sports cars, the 4 Series Coupe, is based on the company's best-selling 3 Series saloon. From 1990 to 2013, the 3 Series Coupe underwent a radical redesign, during which time it became visually distinguishable from the earlier two-door and four-door models. As promised in 2013, the second generation of BMW's popular two-door 4 Series lineup finally debuted in 2020.
The 4 Series family includes the convertible and the five-door Gran Coupe in addition to the two-door Coupe and the BMW i4, which is an electric variant of the conventional 4 Series Coupe.
